The max is more likely limited by what your computer can bring up without the browser crashing, but I'm no where near that point so I can't confirm it.
I doubt that there is a maximum to how many pets you can own. *pokes Smumpkins* As stated before by others, it's probably only limited by how much your computer can handle. Is your computer slow and laggy or new and zippy?

Actually there is a 'limit' to how many creatures you can have in your Keep. Smumpkins had that issue months ago and I hit that issue shortly thereafter. The Keep refuses to load and it doesn't have to do with the computer either since mine is a pretty powerful gaming machine with a Quad Core and 8 gigs of ram. The Keep actually breaks and there is no way around it.
I've only managed to get more creatures because the profile page doesn't break oddly enough and so I've been meticulously obtaining the URL of each egg and then converting the BBCode by hand for my domain. The same is done with checking the creature stats- I've managed to grab the needed URLs and change out the ID numbers to prune out creatures from my Domain. It's a tedious process but it's the only way around my broken Keep.
I'm at the point where i can't open my keep anymore To bad we can't tell if a pet is level 10 just from the image, now checking them is a lot more work..
My keep takes aaaaages to load. I just open the tab and do something else for a couple of minutes and it loads then. I have 519 creatures right now, I hope it'll be fixed by the time I hit the breaking point *anxious* I did want to buy an army of the ravine creatures.
Sen, as of this post you have 686 creatures - so I guess maybe it stops loading at around 650?
